Halloween Day 6: Peek-a-boo Skeletons | hwh<3
Today’s look is pretty easy. I just bought some dangling skeletons (kinda like these ones, except these are cuter) from the Halloween store. I just tied it up under my hair to give it the peek-a-boo look. Mine were pretty big, so I would suggest maybe some smaller skeletons. If you have big skeletons like I did, you could use some bobby pins to hold the skeleton in place.

Halloween Day 2: Black and Orange Braid | hwh<3
To do this, I used black and orange Halloween makeup that I picked up from the local Halloween store. I’m pretty sure you can get some from Wal-Mart or anywhere that sells this kind of stuff.
The one downfall I experienced with this is that the colors were not nearly as vibrant as I would have liked them to be.
You can use hair chalk, or any other type of semi-permanent color (these wash out with water) or even permanent color if you are that bold.
I chose to braid my bangs, since I love that look.
The first thing you want to do is section off the area you want to braid into 3 pieces. Then apply the black color to one of those pieces.
I didn’t take the color all the way down to my scalp, because it minimizes your chance of getting black on the other hair. I also wanted it to look blended. Since it left my hair kinda wet, and I didn’t want it to bleed into the orange, I blow-dried it a little bit.
Next you want to section off another piece and put the orange color in it. The same rules apply as did to the black.
As you can tell by the horrible picture of me, the orange isn’t that vibrant. This is why I think the hair chalk would work better.
I also blow-dried this section.
When it is all ready to go, just braid the section.
The lighting of this picture doesn’t do it justice, but you get the point. Also note that the rest of my hair isn’t styled. If I were to have been going out, I would have flat ironed, back-combed and sprayed the sht out of my hair.

2012 MTV Video Music Awards HAIR Recap | hwh<3
Okay, so the VMA’s are over, and you want to relive some of the moments of tonight’s wonderful show. In this article, I am going to recap some of the famous hairstyles you saw (or maybe didn’t see). Also, check out my MTV VMA’s Red Carpet HAIRstyle Recap to check out the pre-show styles.
Rihanna
Rihanna open the VMA’s this year performing Cockiness remixed with We Found Love. She was rocking a new ultra-short pixie hair’do wrapped in a bandana.
Katy Perry
Katy Perry showed off her new amazing plum-colored hair, while she presented “Best Pop Video,” which stands for popular video apparently, and was won by “One Direction”. I don’t even want to get into their hairstyles. :)
Miley Cyrus
You didn’t think she’d skip out on showing off her new hideous hairstyle did you? Ironically, it’s almost identical to the person she was introducing, P!nk.
P!nk
I love her new pompadour-esque style with shaved sides.
Demi Lovato and Rita Ora
They both looked so glamorous as they presented Best Male Video, won by Chris Brown. I love how Demi has a rocker style, while Rita looks like ultimate glamour.
Zoe Saldana
She looked very trendy and cute with curly hair as she presented Frank Ocean.
Nicki Minaj
I was so glad to see that Nicki won the best female video because I absolutely love her. I think her album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is pretty much the best out there right now. Her hair is a little crazy and very Lady Gaga-esque, and it is clearly a wig. But whatever, she rocks it. Side note: OMG Look at her butt!
Emma Watson
I’m very pleased to see that Emma’s hair does indeed grow. It looks so much more feminine and cute than the pixie. I can’t wait to say the same thing for Miley.
Ke$ha
When my boyfriend just saw Kesha present the Best New Artist award, he said “Wow. She looks normal”. But seriously. She has definitely classed up her look and I love it. She looks so glamorous and awesome.
Gabby Douglas and the Fab 5
Gabrielle looked amazing as always, and since her hair has been a hot topic in the last few months, she showed up with her hair completely styled. She looks amazing as always. The other gymnasts didn’t look too shabby either.
Alicia Keys
Alicia performed her new song “Girl On Fire” with her hair completely slicked back.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift closed the show with a slicked back ponytail and bangs (which are also part of the The 5 Most Popular HAIRstyles of 2012). She sang her new song, We are never ever getting back together.

2012 MTV VMA’s Red Carpet HAIRstyle Recap | hwh<3
It’s that time of year again! You know, the time of year we all wait for, to see what Lady Gaga is wearing and if Taylor Swift is rocking curly or straight hair? Yeah, you know what I’m talking about. The MTV Video Music Awards. Everyone who’s anyone is there and so we get to see all of our favorite celebrities in one place. In this article, I am going to recap some of the best red carpet styles for the VMA’s. So here goes…..
P!nk
Pink has always been known for having edgy, short hair. Tonight she is rocking a pompadour-type style with her sides and back shaved.
Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato showed off her amazing blonde hair as she performed her song Give Your Heart a Break at the pre-show.
Karlie Koss and Joan Smalls
These two girls re-introduced MTV’s House of Style on the red carpet.
Rihanna
Rihanna debuted her new ultra-short black pixie cut.
Taylor Swift
Ms. Swift showed off her new look, which involves super straight hair. I must say, I really miss her gorgeous curls.
Miley Cyrus
Miley showed the world first hand what her new haircut ‘could’ look like. It’s amazing to me, how much it looks exactly like P!nk’s hair. I just can’t say I’m a fan.
Nicki Minaj
I’m pretty sure that Lady Gaga has worn this exact same hairstyle before, but I really love Nicki so I guess it’s okay. Plus Gaga’s didn’t have green tips!
Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys showed up with her very asymmetrical bob, which looks very unflattering, in my humble opinion.
Ke$ha
Kesha showed off a new platinum glamorous look. It appears that she wants to class it up a little bit.
Amber Rose
Amber had a super short, super blonde ‘do this year.
Emma Watson
It looks like Hermione’s hair grows back. Thank GOD!
Rita Ora
Rita showed off her ultra-glamorous blow-out on the red carpet this year.
Kat Graham
Kat Graham showed us what her hair looks like when it’s not in a tight ponytail. I really like it a lot better this way.
Sammy “Sweetheart” Giancola
You didn’t think you’d escape Jersey Shore this year did you? Sammi is showing off her long luscious locks, but we all know it’s a weave.
Holland Roden
Holland’s hair was neatly pulled back into a simple, yet sleek updo.
Jessica Szhor
I really loved Jessica’s hair! I’m a huge fan of scarf headbands.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (August 13-19, 2012) | hwh<3
This week, I decided to choose Beyoncé for my celeb hairstyle of the week!
Rihanna, who has close ties with Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, recently tweeted a beautiful picture of Beyoncé.
Along with the picture, she stated that “This pic could single handedly destroy the self esteem of an entire nation.”
It’s true though. Beyoncé is looking fabulous so shortly after giving birth to daughter, Blue Ivy in January. Although I may not agree with Beyoncé on certain matters, I have to admit that she always looks so good. There is just something about her that screams “classy”. To boot, she rocks her curves and gives curvy women around the world hope. She is the epitome of sexy.
Anyways, I really love her blonde hair. It is bleached and straightened, and I’m pretty sure she is rocking extensions.
To style your hair like this, you’d just have to curl your hair all over. Make sure to direct the curls away from your face. If they fall loose, that’s okay. You don’t need perfectly tight uniform curls for this look.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week (July 16-22, 2012) | hwh<3
This week I decided to choose Britney Spears.
Britney Spears at the X Factor Auditions in Rhode Island
She is showing that she’s got a mean side to her on the X Factor. She got up and left the judge panel when a drag queen sang his rendition of the song “You Drive Me Crazy”. Promos are showing that she’s not afraid to say what she thinks to the contestants.
If you ask me, she has come a long way from a few years ago when she was in and out of rehab and bald.
I’m going to guess that this is her natural hair, because not long after this picture was taken, she was rocking extra-long hair extensions for the X Factor. I really like her hair like this though. It is simple and easy, yet very stylish.
I would say that her hair was blow-dried using a round brush, to give a lot of volume. Then I’d say her hair was curled using a Curling Wand to give it that loose wave look. I would spritz it with some hairspray to hold the curls.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (July 2-8, 2012) | hwh<3
This week I chose Katy Perry for my Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week.
I did this partly because she has a new movie coming out and partly because I love her new music video for “Wide Awake”.
Anyways, I am really excited that she decided to steer away from the teal-colored hair. She is one of the prettiest people in Hollywood, and she looked so tacky with faded hair color.
I love what she did with her hair. Black hair looks so amazing on her. It makes her eyes really pop. The cool thing about her hair is that it still has a small hint of purple in it, which, in my opinion, is really awesome. She had vibrant cotton candy hair for her Teenage Dream theme and now she is promoting “The Complete Confection” which has darker ties to Teenage Dream. The thing is she still has the color of the cotton candy hair but it is darker and mixed with black. I really think it is so artistic and awesome.
To style your hair like hers, I would set your hair with big rollers when it is wet and then allow it to dry. When you take the rollers out, smooth out the curls with a natural bristle brush to add shine.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (June 25-July 1, 2012) | hwh<3
This week, I chose Kimberly Perry from the country band Perry.
I know a lady that works at my second job (at the retirement home), that wants me to do her hair, and she has naturally curly hair. She told me to look up Kimberly Perry, because that’s exactly how she wants her hair to look like! I did some research and discovered that I absolutely LOVE this chick’s hair!
I absolutely LOVE her hair! It’s so wild and fun!
Her hair is cut with some short layers around the crown for height, but not too many because her hair is still thick around the rest of her head. I would blend the top layers down a little bit, but like I said before, not too much! The trick is to add layers without taking out the bulk from the rest of her hair! She also has her famous side-swept bangs, which are cut at an angle to frame her face a little bit, but like with the rest of her haircut, not too much layering.
To achieve her style after you have the haircut, I would apply some mousse (like It’s a 10 Miracle Styling Mousse) and use a blow-dryer with a finger diffuser attachment. Then I would apply something that would smooth down the frizzies a little bit, but not too much. I recommend TIGI After Party. Her hair is still a little bit frizzy, and that’s what adds to the wild look!
