Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (October 1-7, 2012) | hwh<3
This week I chose Ellen Degeneres for my Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week!
One of my favorite customers always gets her hair cut like Ellen, and she specifically asked me to write a post about her hair.
There is not really a whole lot to her hair. It is short, tapered in the back, with the ears cut out. However, it is longer on top, so it looks more femenine. The top has a ton of texture. I’m pretty sure it was cut with a razor.
She just styles it with a messy spikey look and probably uses some texture hold products.
To wrap this post up, I want to share a funny video of Ellen and Britney Spears Christmas Caroling!

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (September 17-23, 2012) | hwh<3
This week I decided to choose Nicki Minaj. I really really like Nicki Minaj. I downloaded her new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded on iTunes a few weeks ago and I really love it. It is honestly probably the best album I have listened to in a long time.
What I like about her is that she is just crazy enough to set her apart from the crowd, but not over the top like Lady Gaga. Unfortunately, she comes with a lot of controversy. Lyrics about her alter-ego / split personality (Roman), Mitt Romney and Lil’ Kim bashing have all added fuel to her fire. My boyfriend says “she just makes weird noises in her music” which is partially true, but she is an amazing rapper. I think rap is the best when they can throw together big words, especially words you don’t hear in every other rap song, give it substance, and make it sound good. Nicki Minaj does just that. I really loved her first album, and all the songs she did before that, but her new album is just so fun and upbeat. The song, “Pound the Alarm” (which the picture I used is from) reminds me of laying in the sun on the top deck of a cruise ship.
So back to the main topic: her hair. I’m pretty sure she wears wigs or weaves most of the time. It doesn’t matter to me. I love it. Her hair always looks so crazy and fun. And I particularly love her hair in the picture above. I would imagine it is either permed or curled with a curling wand. The top is pulled back into a poof-bang type quiff. The key to her hair is volume, volume, volume. It could be really teased up, and really curled, or she could just have a lot of extensions in her hair. Whatever it is, I love it.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week (August 17- September 2, 2012) | hwh<3
Welcome to the blonde side, Kim!!!!
I decided to chose Kim Kardashian this week for my Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week.
She tweeted pictures on Friday of her new blonde ombre ‘do.
Although they are not really good pictures, she did post a few other pictures since then, but her hair does not look blonde in them.
Even Kim is confused why her newer pics don’t appear to be blonde.
Either way, I definitely like the blonde. I always support blonde hair and I think blondes have more fun!
This isn’t the first time. She’s had blonde hair before and it looked amazing.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (August 13-19, 2012) | hwh<3
This week, I decided to choose Beyoncé for my celeb hairstyle of the week!
Rihanna, who has close ties with Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, recently tweeted a beautiful picture of Beyoncé.
Along with the picture, she stated that “This pic could single handedly destroy the self esteem of an entire nation.”
It’s true though. Beyoncé is looking fabulous so shortly after giving birth to daughter, Blue Ivy in January. Although I may not agree with Beyoncé on certain matters, I have to admit that she always looks so good. There is just something about her that screams “classy”. To boot, she rocks her curves and gives curvy women around the world hope. She is the epitome of sexy.
Anyways, I really love her blonde hair. It is bleached and straightened, and I’m pretty sure she is rocking extensions.
To style your hair like this, you’d just have to curl your hair all over. Make sure to direct the curls away from your face. If they fall loose, that’s okay. You don’t need perfectly tight uniform curls for this look.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (July 9-15, 2012) | hwh<3

For this week, I chose Katie Holmes. I really am not much of a Katie Holmes fan. In fact, I think she is usually pretty weird and crazy. However, I do feel bad for her, since she is going through a nasty divorce, and I’m way less of a Tom Cruise fan.
This week she is in the limelight, because of her divorce and custody battle. But also because she is on the cover of Elle Magazine. I do have to say that I absolutely love her hair in this photo-shoot. She looks so much younger and sexier with this hairstyle than she did with a little bob. I also really love her bangs. She has so much thick, healthy hair extensions and then her bangs just add to that look. I feel like she looks mysterious, edgy and amazing.
To achieve her look, I would suggest just blow-drying your hair. Her bangs appear to be straightened, but the rest of her hair doesn’t look like it was styled. I would spray some Paul Mitchell Spray Wax in your hands, and rub them together. Then work the product through the ends of your hair to give it the same messy look as Katie Holmes.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (July 2-8, 2012) | hwh<3
This week I chose Katy Perry for my Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week.
I did this partly because she has a new movie coming out and partly because I love her new music video for “Wide Awake”.
Anyways, I am really excited that she decided to steer away from the teal-colored hair. She is one of the prettiest people in Hollywood, and she looked so tacky with faded hair color.
I love what she did with her hair. Black hair looks so amazing on her. It makes her eyes really pop. The cool thing about her hair is that it still has a small hint of purple in it, which, in my opinion, is really awesome. She had vibrant cotton candy hair for her Teenage Dream theme and now she is promoting “The Complete Confection” which has darker ties to Teenage Dream. The thing is she still has the color of the cotton candy hair but it is darker and mixed with black. I really think it is so artistic and awesome.
To style your hair like hers, I would set your hair with big rollers when it is wet and then allow it to dry. When you take the rollers out, smooth out the curls with a natural bristle brush to add shine.

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (June 25-July 1, 2012) | hwh<3
This week, I chose Kimberly Perry from the country band Perry.
I know a lady that works at my second job (at the retirement home), that wants me to do her hair, and she has naturally curly hair. She told me to look up Kimberly Perry, because that’s exactly how she wants her hair to look like! I did some research and discovered that I absolutely LOVE this chick’s hair!
I absolutely LOVE her hair! It’s so wild and fun!
Her hair is cut with some short layers around the crown for height, but not too many because her hair is still thick around the rest of her head. I would blend the top layers down a little bit, but like I said before, not too much! The trick is to add layers without taking out the bulk from the rest of her hair! She also has her famous side-swept bangs, which are cut at an angle to frame her face a little bit, but like with the rest of her haircut, not too much layering.
To achieve her style after you have the haircut, I would apply some mousse (like It’s a 10 Miracle Styling Mousse) and use a blow-dryer with a finger diffuser attachment. Then I would apply something that would smooth down the frizzies a little bit, but not too much. I recommend TIGI After Party. Her hair is still a little bit frizzy, and that’s what adds to the wild look!

Celeb HAIRstyle of the Week! (June 17-23, 2012) | hwh<3
For this week, I chose Rihanna with a side cut!
I think she looks really awesome with a side cut. I especially like that she kept the rest of her hair long, because it makes her look feminine but edgy. This is a basic hairstyle to do. You just have to shave a small area from the front of your hairline, to about your ear. I would probably not take it too high. You always have to part your hair where the shaved part ends to make this style work. Believe me; I think it looks horrible if you don’t. This is also one of the most popular haircuts of 2012.
